Before I leave for Mother Earth News Fair....

Before I head out of town for the Mother Earth News fair this weekend, I have been perusing some great sites for adding to our very big living room. It seems so empty being twice what we previously had. I am contemplating a few rugs or maybe one of the unique coffee tables CSN stores has to offer.

If the name sounds familiar, it would be due to the fact my (infamous many times mentioned) meat grinder/tomato strainer I love so much, comes from them. Which, by the way, was awesome canning tomatoes with this year.

Once I get back from our little trip out to Pennsylvania, I will be having another giveaway which will again have more then 1 winner. A little tease? Well, it will be in relation to one of the workshops we are attending and if things work out, there will be a few more after that.

You will not want to miss out, so be sure to come back soon and see pictures from the big fair & of course the mystery items in the giveaway!

Now I best finish up these apple pie breads and raviolis for the freezer. Homemade raviolis are also what's for dinner, since I have made so many today.

I have been baking before the sun even rose. Not to mention I have packing to do and notes to prepare for video segments. Happy first official FULL day of Fall!

Sweetest Dreams,
~Tammie

I got so excited when I read the title of this post. We are in the process of packing right now :-) We are leaving in the morning and will be in Pittsburgh in the afternoon/evening depending on when we get on the road. On Saturday we are going to be at the festival (if the Gods are on our side) but not until later in the day...then Sunday we will be there from open to close! I'd love to be able to meet you and thank you in person for the tickets. Maybe we can work something out - I'm sure you are super busy...I'll have Marxwell (Mark) send you our phone numbers and if you have a chance perhaps we can get together if even for a moment in passing!!!!! Have an amazing time at the Fair!

You are ever so welcome for the tickets. You deserve them. What better way to spend a weekend away (kid free at that!) then at a Homesteading theme event! LOL.
I am taking the bread class with my camera girl- her hubby has been requesting homemade bread and she is very excited to take that class on Sunday. I encouraged her to look through the schedule & find some things she would enjoy. I am also taking the the one on small scalle butchering, tinctures, Natures first aid class & umm... O.k. I forget the rest but if any of the above happen to be in the area of what your taking, we DEF need to meet up. It would be so nice to meet the 2 of you. I am very cave woman and have no cell phone. :) I just prefer it that way despite the protests of those I know. So do let me know if any of those classes would in your dance card & we will surely meetup!

Oh my goodness! That Fair was crazy - there were so many more people there than I expected. We made it to some of the workshops - but we found so much other information with the vendors. It was a GREAT time and we SO appreciate the tickets. I wish we would have been able to find you in the mob :-)

It was AMAZING! They had over 5,000 people the first day. I was very happy we had the Media/V.I.P room to escape in. I am so happy the 2 of you were able to go and enjoy yourselves. There was an issue w/ the wifi in the press room & a few people had their comps crash while in there so I decided I would not attempt to use mine- being that my "boss" (that would be me & the Hubs) do not have an expense account to replace the one we have.LOL. I met so many great people. The workshops were fantastic. Ogden publications was so kind and accomadating to us. I have to give them major props for a job well done and their very cool staff. We were walking around a bit groggy due to only 1 cup coffee before a mishap in the first morn-I'll tell more on that later. The next morn was so cold we mad dashed to the resort for hot coffee but had a schedule to stick to for the vids. I am ever so thankful for the kindness we have been shown by all the Mother Earth News/Ogden publications staff. Being my first event/outside homestead coverage, our newbie excitement shined. :)
I wish I could have met up with you but your right. Wheres waldo did apply. I hope you were able to walk away with many great ideas & inspiration to keep your homesteading goals alive & thriving.
