Scones are nice but a bit of diversity in Tea parties makes it all the better. Frog has her own "nook" in the living where she has the typical plastic kitchen center and a child size table. This is where many hours of imagination burst out. The dolls and animals rounded up and placed into their seat. A reminder given to them as to how they are to use their manners and be careful with the dishes. Her stash of dress up clothes include a variety of hats and scarves. Some of course too big for the small guests present at her table, yet no less fun.
She came to me the other day asking for "cakes" to serve her guests and we decided it was time to try the Tea cake pan with a Lavender tea bread glazed with a citrus topping we spotted at this *link*. Perfect child size and for adult size get togethers, this recipe is a perfect example for this pan. Be sure to read the comments for the tip on a citrus glaze and about adding vanilla plus removing the lavender buds from the milk before mixing. We used 1 heaping Tblspn of lavender. which was the perfect amount instead of the 3Tbspn in the recipe..
The new Giveaway is for this beautiful Nordic Ware Tea Cake pan which can be used for chocolates, Jello's, and of course Tea mini cakes.Open your mind to the many possibilities and this will be a very often used pan in the Kitchen. I see this as the perfect pan to use in baby showers, dinner parties, reunions, picnics and of course a wedding shower and reception.
If you have not already, be sure to check out this link to read up on their Green Sustainable Business practices. Besides being Made in The USA, their practice of no Harsh metals or PFOAs used in their bakeware are all the more reason to delight in their products.
How can you win it? Well I think I will throw a twist into this plot. One person will be randomly picked using a number generator but the comment must include a wedding day theme tip for my dear friend White Willow. She is planning a Mountain countryside wedding with a Nature Hippie theme. Bridesmaids in true Hippie style sun dresses (not patchwork or such. Think to the style, not the multi colors), garland of flowers in her hair, Candles galore. Flowers, ferns, barefeet. I am growing White and yellow sunflowers for her tables and would love to hear any other ideas to pass on to her which she can mull around in her planning.I am ever so excited for her. I can envision what she describes and am so honored being asked to join her wedding party as a bridesmaid.
Just wanted to put a little more thought into this giveaway. It's nice to throw in a "kicker" once in a while.

Awesome giveaway! My wedding day tip is to make sure you eat something! It will be such a busy day and you don't want anyone fainting at the "alter" so stock up on snacks or have a bridesmaid brunch:) It sounds beautiful!! Thanks!

My sister just told me about your blog, I love this sort of thing and am always so happy to read post on things that interest me.
I love teas, making my own cleaning products, farming, using natural ingredients and so on. I am a dog groomer and pet food adviser that owns a small grooming parlor in Northeast Ohio. I look forward to reading all your posts.

What a fantastic item. It seems that the art of having tea might be fading. I don't want it to because I love making all the little goodies that people enjoy eating.
Well, never been married, but one thing I would say is make sure you are rested. Don;t go into the wedding all tired out. Get plenty of rest:)

Got your tisane samples yesterday and tried the Sleepy One last night. I will write comments in a personal email.
As far as wedding plans, etc, you need to make sure you have enough water. When Jill was married, it was hot and humid and we had LARGE coolers with lots of ice and lots and lots of bottles of water. My job (besides being Mother of the Bride) was to stick water bottles in everyone's faces - especially Jill and Joy.
Also, you might want to think of Baby's Breath as an addition to the bouquets. I love that flower and it makes such a nice addition.
So, put me in the pot for those pans, please!!
It all sounds so lovely. Since I have been married twice and have done a catholic wedding and the courtthouse wedding I would have to say my tip is to give yourself enough time so that you can enjoy yourself usually we are running around worrying and rushing to get stuff "just so" that by the time we get to the reception we are kinda dazed.
As wedding favors for the guests think about a potted tree (buy in bulk from state forest) to plant in the couples name! I always wanted to do that at my own wedding (also wanted a hippy, nature theme), but we eloped.
Love the pan!
Hi Tammie,
I hope all went well with your turkey for Thanksgiving.
My only suggestion for the wedding is to try, try and try to be in the moment. It goes so fast and all of a sudden it's over.
I'm not sure it would go with her outfit but I have something authentically Hippie that she could have for something "old" for her wedding. It's an actual "Love Bead" necklace that I got from my grandmother and I have been saving it all these years with no thoughts of ever wearing it myself.
Let me know if she is interested and I'll get it to you.
Your give-aways are really nice. The muffin pan is very cool.
Can't wait for spring and turkey eggs!
See ya, Beth
I love your blog and hope the little one I started and nearly abandoned will one day grow up to be like yours...for our wedding we grew just about everything for a September wedding (then we ended up getting married in January). Cosmos, zinnias, sunflowers all in mason jars. Bows of raffia with bunches of flowers, plus early gourds and pumpkins on the tables. Our plan was to incorporate several wedding traditions from other faiths and have a mini parade from the Church back to our home , where we had a backyard reception planned. Well, sadly the Catholic Church had us wait and we ended up with a winter wedding. Our friends married in the pine forest that September and we gave them our bounty for their wedding. They did a procession through the forest. it was beautiful! I love this muffin pan. It would be lovely to win.
I would definitely love to have this!!! It's awesome!
I think the mountain wedding idea is awesome. In times past in these mountains, a couple was married by jumping over a broom that was either laid on the ground or held a few inches above the ground (jumping the broom). It would add a fun element.

Love your writing~Was born and raised not too far from you all; but have relocated to the deep south over 15 years ago~
Love the mountaintop wedding/hippie theme~was there in spirit in the 70's~youngest daughter had a Bohemian wedding outside here in West Central Florida beneath the mighty and graceful live oaks last year. You could breathe the presence of Spirit!
A gentle tip would be is to surround herself with kind and gentle thoughts. Do NOT stray from familiar foods/styles. Make it her dream and wishes.
In HIS love, light, and blessings,
