My " King Arthur Scone mix " Giveaway!

In honor of my upcoming Tisane blends, King Arthur Flour Company has so generously participated in the first of many giveaways right here on The Unusual Farm Chick site.
I truly love their flours which is all I will use for my Artisan breads. I am so thrilled to share with you the taste of exceptional quality one finds with King Arthur's products.

"Here at King Arthur Flour, we believe “value” still refers to the worth of something, not how cheap it is. So while our flour may cost a little bit more than some of the other brands you see on supermarket shelves, we know it’s a good value, because you get what you pay for: the consistent performance of King Arthur Flour yields exceptional results whenever you invest your time and ingredients in baking.
All flour is not created equal. King Arthur Flour is subject to the most precise specifications in the milling industry, and the resulting purity and consistent performance has made it the trusted flour of baking enthusiasts and professionals for over 200 years. We put that care into our products because we believe you deserve exceptional results, every time you bake.
We believe it’s best to offer pure, natural flour free of unnecessary chemicals that may be hazardous to your health. In particular, we avoid adding any bleaching chemicals – such as benzoyl peroxide, commonly found in acne treatment products – as well as potassium bromate, a suspected carcinogen banned in Europe in California.
What’s more, we back our superior flour with a host of resources developed from our more than two centuries of baking experience."

Pick one from the many delectable choices of scone mix from their site here. (There are so many, it will be hard to choose just one, so take your time and browse around!) Then come back to leave a comment including what Herbal blend Tisane ( tea) you would enjoy sipping to compliment their delicious scones. This extra step where you include what herbal blend would go best with the flavor of Scone, helps me know what you enjoy in your herbal tisanes which just might result in a new blending experiment.
It's that easy!
Be sure to check out their FREE Traveling Baking demo's too! They are coming to the Firestone Country club here in Akron Ohio November 6,2009. I know I will be there to benefit from the knowledge of experienced bakers! Heres a direct link to see if they will be coming close to you*.
The deadline is Midnight on Friday November 6, 2009. One entry per person. Two Winners will be chosen from all commenter's to this post. King Arthur Flour Company will mail your choice of scone mix directly to your home. Be sure your comment/blog link has a current email address so I may contact you for your mailing information. I reserve the right to disqualify anyone who does not fully participate with the comment qualifications.
I will announce the winners chosen from a random generator, on Saturday November 7, 2009.
Be sure to keep watching for the next giveaway. After checking out all those scone mixes, the next giveaway will give you even more reason to give King Arthur's dry mix items a try!
Best of luck to all! And be sure to spread the word to your friends about the Unusual Farm Chick giveaways. So many more prizes and well worth the wait.
Sweet dreams,
~Tammie

Congratulations on having King Arthur interested in participating with you. That's a BIG accomplishment. I'm proud of you, sister!

Put my name in the pot, please!! I love King Arthur - we've gotten their flour before and love it (but can't afford it often).

Mmmmm... Pecan-Cinnamon Whole Grain scones with a spicy homemade chai mix (some cinnamon and star anise... maybe even some ground nutmeg) sounds like a delectable way to warm up. Add a tiny bit of apple cider to your tea to give it a real fall flavor and you're in for a treat.

what a great giveaway!

i'm a cinnamon lover myself...the pecan-cinnamon scones. as for tea, one of my favorite blends is bergamot, cinnamon basil, sage, rosemary and nettles. delicious!

I have a hard time choosing myself. I LOVE scones and am so excited King Arthur Flour Company is being a part of this Giveaway. I promise it does not stop there. I have been uber busy with making contacts and am so excited about what you guys have the chance to win. There will be at least 1 give away every 2 weeks untill the end of the year. May even be more depending on who else will honor me with hosting their items in all this fun. I can not wait to let you guys in on the box's UPS left on my door stop today. i am literaly biting my nails over the excitment to share.
I am working on an apple cider tea now. Still trying to get the right balance of my tea to water amount is one of the trickiest parts on some blends when dried fruit is involved. Plus we have a ginger my friend Jeannie and I are working on together. She is a huge ginger fan.
6 more days till a winner and soon after another Big giveaway!

In the spirit of the season I would love to try the cranberry orange scones with an apple chamomile cinnamon with just a touch of ginger tea.

Definitely the cinnamon cream scone mix for me! And the apple cider tea you are working on sounds like the PERFECT accompaniment to this scone flavor. What a fun contest!

I like what King Arthur says about value, and what does and doesn't go into their flours. I'm going to have to give their flour a try... not sure I can always afford it, but I'm going to try it with my next artisan bread loaf. :)

tammie - the blend is hard to describe lol. i'm so bad at describing blends. it is perhaps a bit spicy and mildly sweet. have you ever had earl grey tea? bergamot is one of the ingredients so perhaps that will give you an idea of the flavor? it will be hard for you to find cinnamon basil dried but you should try growing some in your garden next year...it's one of my favorite basils! i'd be happy to mail you some seeds if you'd like. we just harvested a bunch of plants to collect the seeds from.

Heya, farmchick! Love your blog. I think I would like the 'very berry' scones with just about any kind of your tea - I think the apple sounds best.

I am signed in with my tds account. Either that or my yahoo dnsgrl373 will reach me.

Hugs,
