Take a look around...

I have a few meme's to do, but thought I would save those for later in the week.
Instead, I thought I would give a tour of what has been accomplished so far- as in "look what I have done..."
First, this is the new pen I built all by myself. Lots of words were floating in the air for that one....
This is the garden- well a portion of it anyway. That would be the gate I built along with the flat top arbor which now has the Magnum hops and flowering vines growing up the base.
In the Northwest corner, you will see my "what am I up to now" project. Yep, that would be a garden tool shed ladies and gentlemen. Complete with removable shelf and dual side tool holders. It still needs the eye hook for closing...Of course, I find any reason possible to break out the new toy. There I was digging with a shovel in the area where the meat birds were rotating . Then I thought , duh- go get the tiller...
She practically walks herself at times.I am proud to announce that Zeus was successfully separated from Fernie the entire night- at last.
I had some technical difficulties with my system, but in the end I conquered it. Since I had gotten up at 4 am the other day, I discovered how he was getting out of his blockade. Which I quickly locked him back up so I could milk Fernie later in the day.
This morning there were no breakouts and I got4 1/2 cups of milk before giving up and letting her rush back to the screaming baby.... That was a pain. She pooped 5 times! 5 times in the 12 minute milking session. You know she did it on purpose. That goat never poo's that often... I refused to stop and milked as much as I could before I feared the neighbors calling the police over a "screaming baby" outside...
Last count on tomatoes is 60.... I lost 21 to the meat bird raid and started another flat to replace the paste tomatoes they demolished. I have an entire quarter of the garden planted of Cannelini beans. We love them and I use them alot. So it made sense to plant so many. I have added some other items such as store bought pepper plants due to The Captains request and a 3 pack of an heirloom tomato (mr.stripey) found at the garden center. Just more for us to have for storing and the kids to sell at their stand. Along with the 10 watermelon plants that popped up and the (by the end) 80 some tomato plants of 6 different varieties growing up there...Maybe I over did it this year?...
Nahh.. Just more to preserve and share.
Sweet dreams,
~Tammie

Hi!
Thanks for the comment on my site. The geese are so cool! I found a place that sells a harness for a diaper so the geese can spend time in the house and ride in the car with us. They are so friendly and have great personalties compared to chickens.

Another subject. We went to Mt. Hope's swap meet. It was great. All kinds of chickens and other animals. If I didn't already have my hands so full I might have gotten a baby fox. So cute and very tame.
I had arranged to meet a man from Vincent OH there that has the dark egg laying chickens. I just love the "chocolate" colors. I bought a dozen Cuckoo Maran eggs, some Welsummers and 6 crosses and they are in my incubator and set to hatch a week from today. If my power goes out you will hear me cry all the way over there.

I love all the stuff you are building! So handy you are. If you are not busy for the next couple weeks come over and build me a chicken tractor, trellis for my wisteria, brooder house, put up fencing, paint my house, roof my house, put in my new sliding glass door......on and on.
I love all your pictures. I have been so lazy writing my posts. Must get busy. I've got two incubators running and many chicks and poults to take care of so some things slip.
Keep it up,
Love your posts
Beth

O the tomato plant's! If I put in 10 plants my poor hubby starts to freak! He is sure that we will have tomato sauce squirting out our ears.....but you know, I have yet to get enough yield to preserve.

Love your little garden/tool shed!

Wow! I am always amazed at how much you accomplish each time I visit...and I am sure that isn't even the half (or more) of it!

Everything looks great - I can't wait to have room to have more veggies. We have a lot for the space, but it would be awesome to grow many varieties of beans and peas, etc.

I like your milking station!

Take care! ~From one bodyworker to another!

Thank you guys for such nice compliments. These are all things I have wanted to do and since Frog was a babe or I was pregnant, everything took a back seat. Now she is older and has lil' man to play with. We bought Panda one of those battery jeep toys when she was 3- or was it her 4th birthday? anyway- We bought a new battery for it this year and it is the BEST investment. Lil man drives her around on backyard safari's, mountain back roads, and even tows their tonka trucks. I can hear them wherever they are so we do a "shout out" when I hear it stop for more then a minute. Frog fell asleep in it yesterday. Her curly head cradled into lil' mans shoulder as he held on to her so she would not spill out.
Don- wait till you see the Roto hoe!I love it but not sure if it anyone else would...LOL

Wonderful work you are doing there! I envy your milking, even with a screaming baby and poop all over the place! I'm sure she will stop pooping once she gets into the swing of things. Wish *I* had a milking goat!!! Sigh ...
